Camden Council is the fastest growing Local Government Area (LGA) in Australia. Located south west of the Sydney CBD, Camden Council’s region spans 201 square kilometers with an estimated population of 78,218 (2016 census).

Background

Camden Council approached our team to design and develop their new website. Having hosted Camden Council’s previous website, as well as that of several of their sub-brands including Camden Library and Camden Civic Centre, Camden Council trusted us to meet their extensive needs for this project.

Work

Our design team worked closely with the Camden Council marketing team and key stakeholders through a series of workshops and presentations to develop an innovative, accessible, visually engaging design. The primary directive in designing the new website was to reduce pressure on the council’s call centre.

This was achieved by creating a system of design hierarchy which led the user to navigate the site in a preferred manner, and placed key information at the forefront of the design.

The development team played a key role in creating the most efficient website possible by collaborating with and advising the design team on key functionality at each stage of design. The team then developed the approved designs to create a fully-responsive, custom, accessible website for the council.
